Marian Graspre
Joined the firm in 1998. Leads multi-generation planning and family governance practice. Trustee, three charitable foundations.
Graspre has been privately held since 1987. We have never accepted outside capital, never sold a product we didn't recommend, and never grown faster than our ability to serve the families already in our care.
Graspre was founded in a converted millhouse outside New Haven by Eleanor Graspre, a former probate attorney who believed trust administration had become a transaction when it should have remained a relationship. Her first client was a widow with three farms, two grandchildren, and a handwritten letter.
Forty years later, we serve the descendants of that family — alongside founders, surgeons, retired educators, and a small number of operating businesses. We have intentionally remained small. Our partners cap the number of households each can serve, and we have turned away more relationships than we have accepted.
The firm is now led by Eleanor's daughter Marian and a partnership of seven principals. Succession is planned, written, and rehearsed — for us, as for our clients.
No outside owners. No brokerage parent. No fund of our own to push. Our only loyalty is to the families on the other side of the table.
We measure success in decades. The firm has never participated in a market-timing trade and never will.
Every document we send is written for a thoughtful adult, not for a compliance department. Jargon is a tax on attention.
Heirs are invited into the conversation early. Wealth that arrives without context rarely arrives intact.
One transparent fee, disclosed in writing, with no hidden commissions or revenue shares. If we can't justify it on a single page, we don't charge it.
Every household at Graspre is served by a named principal and a named successor. No queues, no rotating advisors.
